Amp for a portable casset player.

I am having trouble trying to figure out how to get started on a project that I want to do. I want to make an amp for a portable casset player. I have hooked up a Johnny Stewart speaker so I can do some Fox,Coyote and crow hunting. I need to get more power to that speaker and also want to have the power of the battery last a long time too. And I have having a brain fart on how to make it. And Then I want to make my own portable game caller. If anybody have done this or have an idea on what I need to do or jave a schematic on this . I would appreciate any and all help that anybody can give me.
