Just curious. I do not see any protection diodes on your supply. Will these power transistors be ok if you short circuit this supply?

For short circuit protection on output, you don't need any protection diodes.
This power supply is tested for short circuit, the output current is approx 23A, if transistor Q6 is hot or very hot, the output current is lower. maximum output current is aprox 26A.
I use this power supply for testing car power amplifiers.

How can I add current control to this circuit? So that I can vary the max current to the load

You can't add variable current control. Max current is defined by resistors R1-R5. By changing the resistors value you may define another max current. Be careful about setting the max current value.

how many amps will this circuit design take?
can I just add more transistors to get more current?
I have a transformer capable of delivering 180 amps
continous @16 volts. 90 amps @32 volts. confused smiley

can you do us a favor?
why not u (reber) post here the calculation or design
consideration during designing stage of that power supply.

I'm very interested how you come out with this circuitry.
Thank you
