Date: July 30, 2003 08:34PM ah yes.. for that matter, what are all of those components. no ratings.. i'll delete this if i can't find any specs to go with the schematic. -andrew Re: 3 Watt FM Transmitter

Date: December 09, 2003 09:00PM In part 15 the FCC measures transmission strength in microvolts per meter rather than antenna consumption wattage. Inefficiencies in components, transmissinon lines, antennas, etc. make antenna wattage numbers unreliable, nevermind the practical measurement difficulty. For unlicensed use of the 88-108MHz band (read everyone not running a capital-R Radio station). the limit is 150 microvolts per meter as measured at 3 meters from the transmitting antenna. (What the heck does THAT mean?) There is a formula for converting between the microvolts per meter measurement and transmitter 'wattage' under ideal conditions, although I don't have it in front of me. Suffice it to say, unless I'm gravely mistaken, for the 88-108MHz band the power limit is approximately 4mw. Sometimes I get the feeling the airwaves only belong to the people if those people are big, rich media companies. [frwebgate.access.gpo.gov] Re: 3 Watt FM Transmitter
