If you don't know what an RFC is, you shouldn't consider building any RF amplifier.

This is an RF amplifier - NOT an audio amp. Is it posted in the wrong section?

Can this RF Amp work on 80m SSB?

an RFC is just an RF Choke. In otherwise it's a manner of filter. No big deal. Get a reputable RF book and start reading. You will enjoy yourself, I assure you. smiley

Hi to all ..
Yes the base of the transistor has to have a return to ground.
The RF choke will provide it and prevents RF from the driver to go (waste) to ground.
If this RF Amp can be used on 80m SSB:
with the proper scaling of C and L yes .. BUT for SSB you need a LINEAR Amplifier, class A ideal but .. veeery inefficient, class B is acceptable.
The amplifier in question is operating well into class C - the result: spurs and harmonics all over the spectrum.
Cheers,
- Angelo
