computer | sensors | interfacing | programming | parts & suppliers smallbotproject step 5. second level Step 5. The SmallBot platform is complete with the addition of just the second level. For this you need spacers long enough to clear the motors, and battery pack. In order to attach the second platform, refer to the cutting guide at the top of the page for the drilling guide. I used #8 2 1/2" flat head bolts. Round head bolts are optimal - but I wasn't able to find them that size. When cutting the holes, in order to keep the holes aligned perfectly with each other - you'll want to attach the platforms to each other (masking tape, electrical tape, etc...) Mark the holes to be drilled with a permanent marker, and then drill away! Unable to find 2" spacers, I used two 1" spacers per pillar of support (If you need more clearance, just add a couple of washers!) I ran the 2 1/2" bolts up through the platform from the bottom, and secured it using a capnut. The washers go on the underside of each level. Screw, Washer, Spacer, Spacer, Washer, Capnut ![]() Congratulations! You've just built the platform!
